What this is

21 days. 21 emails. Each one is a short, honest story from my own life, paired with a journaling prompt to sit with.

We move through it in three phases:

PHASE ONE
DAYS 1-7:

Excavate

Digging up where the “not enough” story began.

PHASE Two
DAYS 8-14:

Build the Foundation

Self-acceptance and self-compassion, one honest belief at a time.

PHASE Three DAYS 15-21:

Plant Seeds

Because a cleared foundation with nothing growing on it is just a hole in the ground.

Nothing here is theoretical. It’s what moved the needle for me, exactly as it happened.

Here’s the thing about a story you’ve been telling yourself for years. It doesn’t loosen its grip just because someone else tells you it isn’t true. It loosens when you write it down in your own handwriting and see it for what it is. That’s the whole reason for the journaling prompt at the end of each day. Reading about self-worth is one thing. Writing your way through it is another. It’s slower, it’s harder to lie to yourself, and it’s the difference between understanding an idea and actually metabolizing it. You just need some honest time with the truth, and a place to put it.

A wooden block spelling the word worthy

You forgot one thing

Do you know how many manifesting courses are out there right now? Thousands. I love a good one as much as the next person – I’ve been doing them for years, vision board and all. Who doesn’t want to know the secrets to how the Universe works so we can live our best lives.

Here’s what I’ve learned: you can’t build a new life, a better relationship, or a thriving career on a foundation you don’t trust. You’re not going to manifest much of anything while some part of you still believes you’re not allowed to have it. It’s like trying to plant a garden on a pile of rocks and wondering why nothing takes root. The courses work – if you actually believe you’re worth what you’re asking for.

Some of them do start with that personal inquiry – the honest look at what you believe is true about yourself. But a lot of courses skip that part entirely or barely scratch the surface of what you need to know about yourself to get results. By now you’ve probably done some of that work. You know cognitively that the negative self-talk isn’t true – you could practically recite the reasons why. Doesn’t matter. It’s still there, and it’s gotten sneaky about how it shows up.

So, before you try to manifest anything else, let’s create some solid ground. That’s what these 21 days are for.

"This is a beautiful, thoughtful, deeply human course that helps you listen to your heart, and I would recommend it to anyone who has ever wondered about faith, self-doubt, spirituality, God, or simply what it means to live a more intentional life. If you’ve ever felt spiritually curious, disconnected, questioning, or simply hungry for something deeper, I think you’ll find something here that stays with you long after the final page. Taking HIGHER GROUND: 21 Days to Catch the Inner Critic feels less like taking a class and more like being invited into a conversation that you hadn't realized you'd been longing for your whole life."

The part that works

Solid ground starts with finding where the story actually lives. Not the generic “I’m not enough,” but your specific version of it, running quietly under your specific reactions. We get it down on paper, in your own words, because a belief you can name is a belief you can catch. Then comes the part that very few people get excited about: you let yourself actually feel it. Not analyze it. Feel it. Be with that feeling. That feeling is the fuel. It lets you experience some of the cost you’ve been paying, and decide if you want to keep paying it. It’s what lets you transmute “I’m not good enough” into “I am worthy,” instead of just repeating a nicer sentence over an unchanged belief.

It can feel sticky. It’s supposed to. On the other side of it is real liberation from the loudest critic that lives in your head. Even when that critic never fully leaves and keeps changing its cover story, the awareness you build here changes your relationship to it completely.

You start to catch it the second it shows up. It stops running the show. You get a pause, right in the moment, where you used to have none, and in that pause is the chance to redirect what’s actually playing. From there, you’re building your life on ground you’ve built with intention, not on old, borrowed limits about what you deserve.

I started this practice because, for most of my 20s and 30s, I was convinced something was wrong with me because I’d never had a long-term monogamous relationship. I decided that someone finally choosing me would be the proof I was worthy. So I waited and made my own worthiness someone else’s job to hand me.

Somewhere in there I realized I could be waiting forever, still handing off the one decision that was never anyone else’s to make in the first place. That’s the story I didn’t want to still be telling myself a year from now. These days, I catch it before it can finish its sentence. It’s not gone completely, but it doesn’t run the show anymore. That’s the actual liberation: not complete silence, but never losing the moment to that voice again.

Higher Ground

What you get

21 days of story and reflection, delivered right to your inbox –
yours to keep and return to for as long as you need it. 21 days from now,
you won’t have “fixed” yourself, because you’ll have seen there was never anything broken to begin with. But you’ll know your own story well enough to catch it the moment it starts running the agenda, and that changes what you’ll let yourself go after next.

One last thing

This is the deepest, most personal excavation of Module 1 of my full course, For the Love of God: Finding Faith from Within. If these 21 days leave you wanting to keep going, there’s a whole path forward from here – wellbeing, growth, faith, love, integrity, gratitude, and the work of consciously creating your life on purpose.

But this course stands entirely on its own. You don’t need to do anything after Day 21 except know that you did the work. The only thing between you and finding out what that’s worth is 21 days and 21 dollars.

Learning to love yourself really is the greatest love of all.
